Agemaspark have been shortlisted in 2 categories at the Doncaster Chamber Business Awards 2021 for SME of the Year and Excellence in People Development.
Agemaspark have invested heavily in their people establishing an apprenticeship scheme within the first 3 years in business, 2 of those early apprentices have developed within the business to become part of the senior managment. 5 of 16 current employees are apprentices and the business is a founder member of the Doncaster utc with MD, Paul Stockhill having been involved in the bid to bring the utc to Doncaster and continuing to serve on the Board as their Vice Chair.
They have invested and developed metal additive powder manufacture, buying a new EOS 3D printing machine in October 2020 for £420k. They have utilised funding available to sustain them through the Covid pandemic and invested in new technology to aid future business growth. The innovation and investment has developed new market possibilities which have led to new orders and continued growth. Their customer service has been recognised with a rating of 88% from Alstom Power for Company's Quality, Delivery and Company Performance.
The SME Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Visual Group, will be given to the company that best demonstrate all-round excellence in business. The judging will focus on financial performance, future objectives, the competitive advantage of the business, a commitment to customer service and examples of specific strategies which have driven business growth.
The Excellence in People Development Award, sponsored by King Asia, will be given to the company who demonstrates their efforts and results from investing in their staff development to support the business and its growth. Judging criteria will include evidence of access to development opportunities, including staff training, apprenticeships offered to staff and how staff are able to progress through the organisation.
