In June, Agemaspark, who are one of Doncaster utc's founding partners, were one of 10 employer partners supporting the first live Post 16's open event, giving potential students the opportunity to also meet the utc staff and current students.

The Post 16 open event was attended by some of the utc's current year 12 students who had missed out on such an event last year due to covid restrictions, along with those that have been offered places for the September 2021 intake, 80% of which have accepted the offer.

Agemaspark's Managing Director, Paul Thornhill is on the Board of Directors and is a keen advocate of promoting careers in engineering and manufacturing to secure the future workforce for the industry that is still seeing a current skills shortage.

Paul was supported at the event by Agemaspark's Workshop Managers, Paul Preskey and Sam Buxton both of who came the apprenticeship route themselves, starting at the company in 2006 and 2005 respectively before progressing through the business and being promoted into their current roles around 4 years ago.
