Dame Julie Kenny DBE DL, Master Cutler has visited an innovative Doncaster precision engineering firm.
Dame Julie was shown around the factory at Agemaspark Ltd where the company’s latest innovative practices and specialist 3D metal printing solutions were on display.
Paul Stockhill, managing director of Agemaspark said: “It was a real honour to welcome Dame Julie to Doncaster.
“We were proud to show her our 3D metal printing machinery and explain the highly efficient advanced manufacturing process through conformal cooling this is enabling our team to deliver.
“The technique improves the efficiency of a mould by as much as 20 per cent, reducing the amount of energy required and the environmental impact of the process.”
“High on the agenda was our strong links with education and our apprenticeship approach to developing our workforce.”
Agemaspark has a great track record for investing in young people and helping to educate and nurture the next generation of engineers. Their apprentices receive on-the-job training with real-world tasks from clients.
Dame Julie said: “This was a very interesting visit. I’d like to thank the team at Agemaspark and my host Paul Stockhill, for making me so welcome. The pride and passion for what they deliver is evident in all they do.
“For a small, family-owned company specialising in precision engineering and 3D metal printing, Agemaspark is delivering some outstanding work with products on Mars and in the international space station!
“It was great to hear how the company invests time in apprentices and works closely with Doncaster UTC, the AMRC Training Centre and both Sheffield Universities.
“I look forward to working with Paul to help them to forge strong connections across the South Yorkshire region.”
